Description

This workshop will be held at Hub on the Heath, Adastral Square, Canford Heath.

We will be making a picture using fabric and the Kinusaiga technique – there is no sewing involved!  Kinusaiga is a Japanese art form invented in the 1980’s where you create textured pictures in a mosaic like form, by tucking fabric scraps into grooves carved into board.
All materials to make one framed picture are included in the workshop along with a hot/cold drink (excluding milkshakes and smoothies).  The frame is 19cm x 19cm.
There will be a choice of designs available on the day along with all the shades of fabric.  Please feel free to bring your own craft knife, seam ripper and fabric scissors if you wish, but I will have some for everyone to use. If anyone has fabric scraps too they would like to use in their artwork then please also bring those.
This is a very relaxing and mindful craft but also a form of recylcing fabrics.
Please note this workshop is suitable for adults and children over 13 (but must be accompanied by a paying adult – please note we will be using craft knives and responsibility remains with the adult).
