Online workshop via zoom.
We will be making a zipped bag to fit a yoga mat – 65cm x 15cm (think this is a regular size). It has long handles to carry on the shoulder, and has a zipped internal pocket for money etc and if you wish to add a keyring loop for keys.
The one shown, is made in oilcloth/pvc and in the workshop I will be making mine in an oilcloth too. This is entirely up to you if you use oilcloth or normal fabric but you will need to be confident in using oilcloth if you do – I will not be doing any ‘how to sew with oilcloth’ instructions during the workshop – different oilcloths behave differently when being sewn – some like a dream and some like your worst nightmare! I use a silicon spray when using it, but you can use a Teflon or roller foot but you would need to practise on your oilcloth before the workshop.
For this workshop you will need to supply all your own fabric – but I can supply some of the haberdashery items if needed –
You will need –
A metre of full width fabric/oilcloth for the outer and zipper tabs. A metre of lining to line the bag and for the zipped pockets. This should be a thin cotton fabric. 2 zips – one 70cm long and one 24cm long. 2 metres of 25mm webbing for the handles, and 4 25mm rectangle rings for the handles.
I do have webbing and the rings in stock – webbing is £1 per metre and rings are £1 for 4 (plus postage). Please contact me asap if you need these. I also have continuous zip in various colours in stock which is £1 per metre with 3 pulls (plus postage).
