in this workshop we will go through all the basic techniques you need to know to enable you to print onto fabric and paper using Indian Printing Blocks. We will also go through ideas for using block printing etc.
There will be a selection of blocks and paint to use, and first we will practise on some scrap fabric, practising the technique and design and then printing on to a tea towel.
I have a selection of blocks to use, seed heads and flowers, beach hut, camper van, bunting, stars, unicorn, butterfly, bicycle, and an alphabet set. Newly added – bumble bee, cactus, flamingo, and dinosaurs.
For those that sew, this is a great opportunity to combine printing your own fabric and then using it to make an item. If you wish to bring some plain, light coloured fabric (linen or calico work well) then please do so, you can print your design and then use it at a later date. For those that don’t sew, please bring along some light coloured card or tags to print on if we have spare time.
No experience needed and suitable for all creative abilities!
